HOW IT ALL STARTED

In mid-2008, three friends coming from different companies from the freight forwarding industry tried their luck as freelancers, and they collaborated and established a sideline business in the same industry. It was a successful three-month venture until an unfortunate event happened that led to the disintegration of their founded freelance business.

In 2009, with the aim to recover from the break up they experienced from their previous partnership, one of them had an introspection to bravely put up an official forwarding company instead. He convinced his two friends to take a leap of faith to their future partnership that will combine the weight of their collective knowledge and expertise, plus the meaningful experiences and lessons they learned from their first attempt to build a business. With only their emotional bank’s full, the three friends valiantly decided to take risks and try again with a better plan and perspective – and this was how Bridge Point Cargo Logistics Expert Inc. has become a reality.

The company name originated from an out-of-the-blue idea, as one of the partners was strolling along McArthur Bridge in Manila. He glanced at FEATI University tarpaulin that is hanging on one of the buildings surrounding the bridge, and he noticed the term “Bridgepoint.” He then thought that it is a good company name, so he presented the idea to his two other partners. The three collaborated and registered Bridge Point Cargo Logistics Expert Inc. as the official name of their corporation. They concluded the tagline “Your cargo is our expertise.” and ensure that the business will revolve around this concept at all times.

The company was officially established on January 20, 2009 at Muelle Industria Street, near the Delpan Bridge. The founders chose the date to coincide with the feast day of Santo Niño de Cebu.

JENIFFER B. DIESTA-ANQUILO

General Manager

Jeniffer, known as “Jing” to her colleagues and clientele; has over 15 years of experience working in the freight forwarding industry. She serves as the General Manager of the company and primarily takes care of all sales and clientele relations endeavors.

Highlights of her career include working as an Account Executive at Widelink Port Solutions – a customs brokerage firm. She also served as a Logistics Coordinator at Enasia Import Export Inc. Jing effectively serves as Bridge Point’s General Manager from 2009 to present.

She obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication at Cavite State University-Main Campus in Indang.

WILLIAM C. ANQUILO, LCB

Vice President of Operations

William is one of the founding partners of the company. He serves as the VP of Operations and he focuses on strategic planning, goal-setting, and he directs the operations of the company in support of its goals.

William is also the proprietor of William C. Anquilo Customs Brokerage which operations primarily focus on Manila International Container Terminal (MICT) – The Philippines’ busiest, most modern and largest terminal for the country’s land and sea transport.

He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Customs Administration at University of Cebu-LapuLapu and Mandaue (UCLM).
